Biography


Magical, that's the best way NJ Silva describes the process of filmmaking.
Since an early age, NJ was seduced by the moving images and all the stories they told. He's a Portuguese-born filmmaker who wanted to be a journalist since he was 5 years old. NJ discovered his passion for writing during the Golf War I. During this period he created stories of the journalists who were reporting from the conflict, he imagined how it would be like to be them.
Always having a career in Journalism as his goal, NJ was trained as a child actor and was involved in high profile plays and shows. At the age of 13 he wrote and directed a 20 minutes short film called "The Highschool".  It was only at 18 years of age the NJ finally decided to pursue a career in Filmmaking. He took a university degree in Filmmaking in Lisbon and finished his training at the London Film Academy.
Since he started his career he has directed, 5 short films and has won several awards and many other nominations.
